My motto had been, before this, "all your boost are belong to us"; when I had the chance to run against multi-time national champions in STI, I got a set of Kumho MXs and changed my motto to "pray for rain." I might be proud, but I'm not stupid, you see. I knew it was going to take an act of G*d for me to beat Strano in the ThunderChicken.

And before you ask, the answer is No, I never did beat him.
We tried it at the first event of the season but for some reason AXWare was giving the PAX modifier to everyone so we had to nix it. Don't ask me why, I assist with Timing and Scoring but I don't know the ins and outs yet. I would love to try an Autox in the rain with my evo but living in the desert we don't get too much of that.

Wow. That STILL hasn't been fixed? Gag.

In other words, yes, early version of most software, including AXware, didn't allow you to use PAX for subsets of competitors, so it had to be done separately or by hand. I even wrote a new package in - get ready for this - Turbo Pascal to do the scoring. I had assumed that the popularity of indexed classes would have led to a fix for this buy now.

edit: I'm 99% sure that there is free copies of an Excel spreadsheet to do this for you with the output from AXware as input; search around

I know they said they have the most recent version. I'll let them know about the spreadsheets. Thanks!

I saw a few... I was going to let them slide but you brought it up.

Are you autoxing the X too or are you done with autox now that the 2g is gone?

I did maybe half-a-dozen autocrosses in the X right after I bought it. Very fun car as delivered and really opened my eyes to how well a car with front struts can handle at low speeds. But that wasn't the plan. I try to do something new and different with each car I own and the target for this car was dirt and gravel.

And, yet, I have put a ton of time into trying to come up with a suspension plan that is geared towards dirt, but can be switched to tarmac with minimal work. So I'll probably do a few more autocrosses or HPDEs in the car, too.

That sounds like a good plan. My focus is still Autox since that is what is local and I do enjoy it. We'll see how these rallyx's go in a few weeks. I just wish they were closer.

We had a SOLO school today so it was mostly rookies and newer members. None if the really senior drivers were making runs. There was stiff competition from 3 of us, all non-rookies, for fastest raw time of the day. We had been trading the lead and were all very close. Going into the last run I was in 3rd behind a FP RX7 (by .02 seconds) and a SSP Viper (by .4 seconds). I managed to drop a full second on my last run to take the fastest raw time. Doesn't count for points, but i was still happy none the less. Usually I push too hard under pressure and end up hitting a cone.

DirtyEvo members (Vortico and 9!'clipseDOHC) took 2nd and 3rd in the street tires class at the Pan Am Region AutoX today. It was super hot out (102*, probably in the shade) and the tires were greasy and slippery. We have a member from Alaska and he compared it to ice racing. There was a guy taking pics, if I get them I'll post them up.

Vortico had to work today so that left it up to me represent the Evo's and I managed to take 2nd place in Street Tires.

Here are a few pics, I should have some action ones soon.

Yeah it was stupid hot out there and the heavier cars were all over the place. I can definalty say ZII's are no where near as good as RS3's in the heat. Quite disappointing.
